Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Administrator/Facilities to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role requires a strong understanding of network protocols, computer networking, and security practices. The Network Administrator will work collaboratively with other IT professionals to support the organization's technology needs. Position is not remote and is a entry level position.

Duties

  • Maintaining computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, routers, switches and other physical hardware
  • Monitor network performance. Use tools to monitor network data flow, performance and security
  • Technical support POS (Counterpoint) including printers, scanners and POS system
  • Technical support for camera surveillance systems
  • Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected
  • Manage and maintain IT equipment inventory and supplies
  • General helpdesk support and network management
  • Administrative duties as needed to support the department
  • Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Infrastructure documentation and operational procedure management
  • Assist with facility management tasks for all locations
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

  • Preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, systems engineering or network administration
  • Proven experience in network administration or a related field. 5-10 years of related work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts and practices.
  • Computer proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware
  • Proficiency in scripting languages to enhance automation capabilities.
  • Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidates should possess a proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and adapting to changing environments.
  • Virtual Reality experience a plus
