Production Lead

We are looking for a full-time Production Lead in KAPOLEI for the following job duties:

The Production Lead works under the structure established by the Department Manager.  At all times this person has responsibility for matters of safety, sanitation, quality and efficiency while supervising and coordinating the activities within the production department. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Production Lead is responsible to coordinate and direct all employees on the various production lines and work with the Department Manager to ensure that the daily workload is completed within a reasonable time and at the desired quality levels determined. 

• Review processing schedules and production orders to transfer the necessary raw materials and supplies from warehouse to production.
• Determine daily staffing requirements based on workload and assignment of duties to fulfill each production line needs.
• Collect quantitative and qualitative production records needed to evaluate cutting yields and productivity as well as records needed for quality assurance.
• Maintain a level of Good manufacturing Procedures (GMP) that meets all federal, state, local and company requirements.
• Train, administer and enforce USDA & HACCP plans.
• Maintain product quality standards and results acceptable to customer and company requirements.
• Implement safety programs resulting in continued safety awareness and safe conditions
• Prepare production timesheets.
• Prepare Pre-operation reports for QA Manager.
• Have a good working knowledge and be able to perform all essential functions in operating the following production machinery; injector, tumbler, skin packer, slicers, band saw, repac machine and metal detectors. Must be able to supervise employees operating these machinery.
• Able to perform in a temporary capacity in the absence of the department manager
• Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead 8-15 employees in the Production Department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
