BASIC FUNCTION
The Membership Director is responsible for maximizing membership recruitment and retention through strategic sales and marketing initiatives, relationship cultivation, and community engagement. This position requires a results-driven individual with a proven record of success in sales, marketing, and relationship management. The Membership Director will represent Mid-Pacific Country Club as a brand ambassador, creating awareness of the club’s offerings while fostering strong connections with members, prospective members, community leaders, and local agencies.
An in-depth knowledge of the Windward and Honolulu area’s market dynamics, particularly as they relate to private club membership, is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional professionalism, communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to the Aloha Spirit that embodies the values of Mid-Pacific Country Club.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Membership Sales and Recruitment
· Develop and execute strategic membership recruitment plans rooted in the values of the Aloha Spirit, emphasizing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. · Conduct professional sales calls, personalized follow-ups, and warm invitations to potential members, creating a genuine connection that reflects the spirit of ‘Ohana. · Offer engaging and immersive tours of the club, highlighting its breathtaking views, unique Oahu heritage, and the community-focused lifestyle of the club. · Organize and host prospecting events inspired by the local culture, showcasing authentic Hawaiian traditions and the warmth of Mid-Pacific Country Club’s ‘Ohana. · Build rapport with existing members and encourage participation in referral programs, fostering a shared sense of community. · Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, track progress, and personalize communications to reflect the unique needs of potential members. Onboarding and Member Engagement · Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding program that emphasizes the club’s slogan, "Home Away from Home," ensuring new members feel immediately welcomed into the Mid-Pacific family. · Act as a dedicated liaison for new members during their first year, offering personal introductions to other members and guidance on club amenities. · Collaborate with departments to create meaningful, member-focused programs that celebrate the club’s legacy of "Serving Aloha since 1926." · Facilitate activities and gatherings rooted in Hawaiian culture, such as hula nights, lei-making workshops, and other traditions to deepen members' connection to the club and the island.
Marketing and Business Development
- Highlight the uniqueness of the Oahu lifestyle in all marketing campaigns, emphasizing the club’s iconic views of the Mokulua islands, Ko’olau mountain range, and ties to the local community.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of competitor clubs’ offerings, pricing, and promotions to ensure Mid-Pacific Country Club remains competitive.
- Design and implement comprehensive onboarding programs to ensure seamless integration of new members into the club community.
- Serve as a liaison to new members during their first year to enhance satisfaction and engagement.
- Collaborate with other departments to create member-focused programs, events, and activities.
- Partner with the marketing team to create engaging content that showcases the club as a hub of ‘Ohana, from family-friendly events to opportunities for personal relaxation and connection.
- Build relationships with community leaders, real estate professionals, and local businesses, reinforcing the club’s role as a cornerstone of Kailua and Lanikai life.
- Represent the club at Oahu events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and gatherings to strengthen its local presence and demonstrate the club’s commitment to serving Aloha.
- Establish partnerships with local schools, sports organizations, and cultural institutions to enhance community outreach and attract new members who align with the club’s values.
Data Analysis and Strategic Planning
- Develop monthly and quarterly sales plans, presenting progress updates with actionable insights to the General Manager.
- Analyze CRM data to assess the effectiveness of local outreach efforts and refine strategies to align with the needs of the Oahu market.
- Adjust membership recruitment and retention plans based on feedback and trends to ensure Mid-Pacific Country Club continues to be a "Home Away from Home" for members.
Membership Retention and Renewal
- Create tailored retention programs that reflect the unique needs of the Oahu community, focusing on fostering a sense of belonging and pride in the club’s storied history.
- Recognize members’ milestones, such as anniversaries and personal achievements, through meaningful gestures that reflect the Aloha Spirit.
- Regularly engage with members to address concerns and ensure their experience reflects the values of ‘Ohana and community.
Community Integration and Cultural Connection
- Develop programs and events that celebrate Hawaiian culture, such as storytelling nights, ‘ukulele classes, and local food tastings, integrating members into the vibrant Oahu lifestyle.
- Actively promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring the club embodies the welcoming and hospitable nature of Aloha.
- Support initiatives that give back to the Kailua community, partnering with local charities, schools, and organizations to reinforce the club’s role as a positive force in the area.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in sales, marketing, or membership recruitment, preferably within the private club or hospitality industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a membership organization.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect authentically with diverse audiences.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Motivated self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving challenges.
- Knowledge of the local market, with a strong network of community connections preferred.
HOURS / DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT / COMPENSATION:
- This is a full-time salaried position based on a 40-hour workweek.
- Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on events and business needs.
- Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
