The Facilities department provides safe and functional facilities for our guests and employees by maintaining the physical structures of the resort. The Carpenter Journeyman supports those efforts through various carpentry projects.
The role of Carpenter Journeyman can provide you with:

A typical day for the Carpenter Journeyman may include the following responsibilities:
- Repair and/or construct physical structures and furniture, which may involve complex mathematics and measurements.
- Prioritize tasks to meet applicable deadlines.
- Regularly monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning, and monitor in-house par of supplies to support day-to-day maintenance.
- Provide Facilities management with accurate list of materials and equipment required to complete special projects.

The ideal candidate is professionally trained in both rough and finish carpentry work, and has proven experience in the trade working on commercial scale projects. The ideal candidate also has extensive experience on structure repair, preferably in a hotel/resort, possesses a strong work ethic, excellent time management ability, and a natural aptitude for guest service and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- The ability to speak, read and write proficiently in the English language.
- Ability to perform tasks with little instruction or supervision and the ability to work independently with high output.
- High skill in the use of hand and power tools with strong working knowledge of safety measures.
- Mathematical knowledge and ability to ensure repair and constructs are made to spec.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time and engage in considerable physical activity on a consistent basis.
- Neat and professional appearance, a genuine spirit of Aloha and the desire to provide great service.
- As a condition of employment, candidate must be able to satisfy all pre-employment screenings; such as criminal background checks, drug screening and professional references.
