Property Accountant (218655-14)#OFFICE_INDEEDWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have three years of accounting experience in the real estate or property management industry. Responsible for managing and recording all financial transactions related to real estate properties, including rent collection, property expenses, maintenance costs, and capital expenditures, ensuring accurate financial reporting for property owners and managers by preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining detailed property records.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm

Pay
$65,000 to $68,000 a year
Responsibilities
- Accurately record all income and expenses associated with properties, such as rent receipts, utility bills, repairs, insurance premiums, and property taxes.
- Regularly reconcile bank statements with accounting records to identify any discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for property owners and management.
- Track lease agreements, including lease start and end dates, rent payments, and tenant security deposits.
- Prepare and distribute tenant invoices for rent and other applicable charges.
- Analyze property expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor budget compliance.
- Record and track major property improvements and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with property tax calculations and ensure accurate tax filings.
- Support internal and external audit processes to maintain compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Appfolio, Yardi, QuickBooks, or similar).
