Responsibilities

  • Facilitate discussions between patients and healthcare providers, explain diagnoses and medical bills, and ensure patient understanding.
  • Schedule doctor visits and medical tests while coordinating care with other services.
  • Negotiate bills, resolve errors, and communicate with insurance companies on behalf of the patient.
  • Guide patients through treatment options and ensure access to necessary care services.
  • Uphold patient rights, identify care gaps, and advocate for better healthcare outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate notes, review medical charts, and track patient care details.
  • Provide comprehensive case management and make referrals for financial, legal, and social support.
  • Offer emotional support and connect patients with support groups and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in healthcare, social work, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in patient advocacy, medical billing, or insurance authorization.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare systems.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
  • Ability to listen and de-escalate stressful situations.
