Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Family Support Liaison to assist families involved in social services systems by facilitating access to community supports and coordinating flexible funding requests. This role involves close collaboration with team members, direct communication with families, and the development of relationships with local service providers to help families move toward stability and empowerment.

This is a one-month temporary position with the possibility of extension or hire based on need and performance.

Pay

$19 to $22 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Engage with families and peer support staff to identify immediate needs and assist with follow-up tasks.
  • Coordinate, document, and fulfill requests for flexible funding, including purchasing and delivering items.
  • Research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of community-based resources, including housing navigation supports.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with community agencies to ensure reliable referral pathways.
  • Support internal team members by providing resource information and contributing to staff training.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Track outreach and follow-up activities through internal documentation systems.
  • Participate in supervision, mentoring, and peer support as part of a collaborative service team.
  • Prepare for calls and meetings, ensure timely documentation, and contribute to shared team goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting families, especially those involved in child welfare or crisis care settings, preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required (training can be provided).
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel for outreach and deliveries.
  • Proficient in using technology including databases, word processing, and basic mapping tools.
  • Knowledge of local cultures and community dynamics is a plus.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must pass background checks as required for roles working with vulnerable populations. This is not an ALTRES Staffing requirement.
