Job Description

A local company is seeking a dedicated Corporate Accountant to join their team and help prepare and record financial and statistical information in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for preparing GAAP financial statements, internal financial reports for management, and financial and statistical reports for external parties.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of accounting experience, including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$38 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record financial and statistical information in the company's general ledger.
  • Prepare GAAP financial statements and internal financial reports for management.
  • Generate financial and statistical reports for external parties in a timely manner.
  • Analyze recorded information and assist in providing accounting guidance.
  • Coordinate the timely financial closing process.
  • Gather, interpret, and summarize various transactions and information.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries.
  • Analyze recorded information for financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Coordinate the timely completion of general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Analyze reconciliations to ensure accurate month-end account statements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.
  • Experience in consolidations and the electric utility industry preferred.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Thorough understanding of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Strong understanding of accrual and consolidation accounting.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills for reviewing general ledger account balances.
