Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will be able to oversee the financial operations of the company, implement internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial policies, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the company?s financial records. The role will be instrumental in providing financial guidance to support the company?s growth initiatives in the fast-growing industry.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$90,000 to $110,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support the controller in managing the accounting department.
  • Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external auditors during audits.
  • Assist int he preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience.
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or related role.
  • Previous experience in construction accounting with job costing knowledge.
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Enterprise.
  • Previous experience with inventory management or ERP software preferred.
  • Renewable energy experience in Hawaii preferred.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
