There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Transportation Services, Administration Division. The Track, Guideway, and Structure Officer (Civil Engineer IV) performs difficult professional engineering work in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of civil engineering projects; prepares designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other duties as required.

 

This is the fully-operating level in the professional Civil Engineer series. An engineer at this level is responsible for the full range of projects, including a complex and major project or several less complex projects involving the development, analyses and construction of civil engineering projects where the problems of supervision and/or coordination are pronounced.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Three years of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.

 

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:

Possession of a valid license as a professional civil engineer in the State of Hawaii.

Applicants with a current out-of-state professional civil engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
