Job Summary
Overview Oversees the safety and operational integrity of construction projects. and possess a strong commitment to promoting a safe and productive work environment.
This role involves coordinating and supervising construction activities while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing, supervising, and overseeing all aspects of site operations, ensuring efficient and effective execution of project plans.
- Participate in three phases of quality control.
- Supervising in-house personnel and scheduling work (three week look ahead) for internal and external (subcontractors, consultants, etc) groups.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, NAVFAC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risk, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety meetings and training sessions to promote continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project safety and quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of safety audits, incident reports, and corrective actions taken.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all site safety-related matters, including emergency response planning and incident investigations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred. - Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification required. -
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision and site safety management.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and codes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in the use of safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment physical.
- Ability to navigate and inspect all areas of construction sites in all types of weather.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate machinery as needed.

- Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
- Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
- Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
- Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
- Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
- Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.
- Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
- Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 5-10 non-supervisory employees (more or less depending on job). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Education
This position requires an Associate's degree (or other 2-year degree) and 5 years of previous experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred in Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
