Pastry Sous Chef Position at Dean & Deluca Hawaii

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at our Ritz-Carlton Waikiki Store!

Responsibilities:
- Preparation: Create a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, and other sweet goods for our café and restaurant.
- Operational Oversight: Manage all pastry function areas of the store, including food purchasing, receiving, preparation, and maintaining quality standards.
- Safety & Sanitation: Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
- Training: Train staff on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques.
- Quality Control: Uphold company standards for food presentation, portioning, and timely service.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned on a regular schedule, food is disposed of properly, and sanitary standards are met.
- Cost Management: Track food costs, waste, and employee hours, optimizing for profitability.
- Team Motivation: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve store productivity goals.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to lift 25-30lbs, stand for the duration of the shift, handle physical repetitive motions, and work in hot and cold environments.
- Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude.
- Passionate about creating an exceptional experience for our customers.
