Job Description
Oahu Care Facility is seeking a skilled and passionate Full-time Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, appetizing meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences. Shift is 10am-6:30pm. Healthcare experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Plan menus in consultation with the dietary manager, taking into account nutritional guidelines, budget constraints, and resident preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards at all times.
- Monitor food inventory levels, place orders for supplies as needed, and rotate stock to minimize waste.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service.
- Assist with special events and catering functions as required.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a cook or chef in a similar setting, preferably in a healthcare facility or senior living community.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Hawaii Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe certification preferred.
