MISSION OF THE ROLE
- Educational Assistants support the educational environment by assisting teachers and staff with classroom management, lesson implementation and resource support as needed to ensure all students get the most out of the learning environment.

Minimum:
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
- Experience working with middle school students
- Experience working with Students With Disabilities
GOALS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide individual and group support to students in order to reinforce the instructional/lesson objectives in activities planned by the teacher for the students.
- Serve as an additional direct adult supervisor for students to ensure that assigned activities are carried out. Activities may include discussion, hands-on investigations, or interaction.
- Provide opportunities for exceptional learners to succeed and develop confidence in their strengths.
- View each student’s progress with a growth mindset and collaborate with other school community members to support all learners
- Work to develop awareness of students’ strengths and weaknesses and encourage students to advocate for themselves using their self-knowledge.
- Implement classroom, school, and behavior management strategies as necessary that are aligned with SEEQS's philosophy and with students' Individualized Education Plans.
POSITION DETAILS
The Educational Assistant is a 10-month position, 0.875 FTE and includes paid holidays, breaks between quarters, and generous sick leave.
Daily hours for the role are between 7:45 AM and 3:45 PM [including a 30 minute lunch break].
Start date: ASAP
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION
The role requires the employee to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach above the shoulders, walk short distances, climb stairs, listen effectively, speak clearly, and visually observe staff and students on a routine basis.
