DENTAL BILLINGS SPECIALIST

Job Summary

Kokua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services is seeking a Dental Billings Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the entire billings function, a passion for detail, as well as excellent computer and communication skills.

Primary Duty:

- Oversees clients' demographic data and insurance information for timely and accurate billing

- Function as a resource person for other staff in areas of coding and reimbursement

- Advise clients about sliding fees, billing and payment procedures

- Utilize the insurance portals to check eligibility of patient’s coverage, maintain record of all portal access

- Assure that services and diagnoses are properly coded per applicable national, state and local third party requirements

- Assure that all insurance benefits are filed for on a timely and accurate basis

Qualifications and Skills:

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, required.

- Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, required.

- Ability to honestly handle money, checks, and confidential billing information, required.

- Ability to work with multi-cultural staff and client population, required.

- High school graduate, required.

- Proficient in computer office software including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, required.

- Familiar in dental coding or willingness to be trained preferred.

Experience:

- One year's experience working as a medical/ dental biller preferred.

- One year's experience in A/R positions preferred.

- Two year's experience in medical/ dental office settings preferred.

- Experience with Dentrix Enterprise software and Microsoft Office Suite applications preferred.
