Domestic Violence Action Center is seeking an
LGBTQ+Advocate to help support survivors of Domestic Violence.

This is a full time position M-F 8:30-4:30pm and includes:

Some Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field and (3) years' experience working with people who have experienced trauma, and endeavoring to overcome barriers, change life patterns, and improve living circumstances.
- Create and maintain a safe setting that is conducive to individual participation, healing and learning.
- Advocate will conduct regular IPV education and outreach activities in local communities on Oahu, with a focus on how IPV impacts LGBTQ+ individuals.
- Provide knowledge, skills and tools for participants to use in order to help them remain safe and move toward healing from past domestic violence.
- Provide support of culturally long term advocacy, as needed up to 30 cases
- Provide crisis support and counseling, safety planning and accompaniments to court and community appointments with survivors referred by DVAC program or community allies.
